Fall 2019 - Art and Social Activism

In the last newsletter, I introduced my cast metal spoons; this time, I am excited to share the cast crystal one! Check out the picture and more about the process below.

I am also currently in LA to debut my mini-documentary, which will have its second showing in NYC, hope to see you all there!

The studio is just as busy and productive as ever creating sculptures and installations, and I look forward to sharing with you all the new work soon!

Opioid Spoon Series -
Crystal Spoon
This version of the spoon is a unique variation on the Opioid Spoon Series; it is symbolic of the inner struggle of fighting the disease with the anticipation of gaining lucidity, even if temporary.

We made this one from solid cast lead crystal and measure 18 inches in length. A special thanks to Jessi Moore Brooklyn, for casting this beauty. We will be making only five in this series and happy to announce that we will be creating the casts at The Studio of Corning Museum of Glass, which will be donating the kiln time and use of the studio facilities. So incredibly grateful for Corning’s generosity. As always, any money raised from selling art is used exclusively for the OSP non-profit.
