This sweet and lucky little girl got the 100,000th book given away by the Madison Reading Project! MRP is one of two organizations honored for their amazing work to promote literacy. SCBWI Director of Special Projects Kim Turrisi (left) presented 1,000 books from SCBWI members to MRP Executive Director Rowan Childs (right).

A tiny fraction of the donation. You wouldn't believe how much 1,000 books fills a room.

And look at how MRP gets its books to kids. A nifty book bus!

I helped at the drawing table. The kids' art was beautiful! :)

And some kids preferred filling in my tornado pattern to making something new.

Writing non-fiction, too!
|
|
|
I've been getting back into writing non-fiction, too, especially magazine articles. This one is for UW-Milwaukee's Alumni magazine about a Milwaukee composer's work on a new theatrical play. The play is based on a children's book by Wisconsin author Barbara Joosse. It's great to see Wisconsin talent flourishing and boosting each other!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to those who've shown support and friendship throughout my publishing journey. Cupid has come a long way.
If you haven't got your copy of GOD AWFUL REBEL, you can pick it up through the button below. The second button is for you binge readers out there who want the whole series in hand before you start reading - or for those thinking about HOLIDAY SHOPPING! You can buy all three books: God Awful Loser, God Awful Thief, and God Awful Rebel. I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I did.
