Hi <<First Name>>,

Fellow CalWEP members have been involved in the development of the Water Loss Performance Standards by the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB). A written comment period is now open until noon on October 25, 2019. In an effort to ensure the voices of water agencies are being heard through this process, several opportunities have been developed for your participation.

1. Individualized comment letter: Your water system’s specific examples are needed!
Through the performance standard development period the need for specific examples of how the proposed water loss framework impacts water systems has become clear.  And, with the recent release of the Economic Model, this has become even more necessary to ensure the water loss performance standards are realistic and achievable.

With this in mind, several members have prepared a generic letter template retailers can personalize to provide comment. Download the letter template and edit as you see fit.

2. Sign on to the coalition letter: Add your agency name
Signatures are being collected by CMUA through Friday, October 18, 2019. Download the PDF coalition letter for your review. Agencies interested in signing onto this letter can send their name and organization to:

Jonathan Young
Regulatory Advocate
California Municipal Utilities Association
