Hälsingland by Göran Klinghagen (CE42)

On November 1 we release HÄLSINGLAND. Jazz great Göran Klinghagen has based his album on classical Swedish folk music songs and played them with great German jazz musicians. Singer Fola Dada has interpreted the well known Swedish texts and sings them in English, German and Swedish. A truly polyglot musical experience with songs like Uti vår hage (Reasons to live), Visa från Rättvik (Mensch), De sålde sina hemman (Hope), Visa vid midsommartid (Dream) and Jag vet en dejlig rosa.

Three more unique Hindustani albums!

Bale Khan and Pandit Taranath: Live in London 1966 (CEX24).
Sitar Nawaz Ustad Bale Khan is one of 7 sitar playing brothers from an illustrious family of Gwalior & Kirana gharana. In this private concert from London more than 50 years ago he is accompanied by tabla legend Pandit Taranath Rao.
K. Sridhar: Live in Stockholm 1991 (CEX25).
Trained by Z.M. Dagar since early childhood, K. Sridhar is one of the great masters of the sarod. Here he gives us a beautiful version of Shuddh Todi to be fully enjoyed in the early morning. Tabla by Sopandev
Chandrashekar Naringrekar: Raag Nandeshwari (CEX26).
Chandrashekar Naringrekar was Ustad Zia Mohiuddin Dagar’s closest student and a great sitar- and surbahar exponent. Please enjoy this thorough treatment of one of his Ustad’s favourite ragas, Nandeshwari where he and Maruti Kurdekar first plays surbahar and pakhawaj and then sitar and tabla in a lovely private concert at his house in Panjim in 1993
These three albums are digital only.
