Winterize Irrigation Lines
Fall typically brings steady rainfall, so now is a good time to have your irrigation system winterized. Mid November is the ideal time. If your lawn was recently seeded, daily watering is still recommended. If your lawn was previously seeded and you now have an established lawn, watering three times a week is sufficient until winterization.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If we have freezing temps overnight (before your system is winterized) we recommend that you cover your back flow with a blanket for the night to prevent any cracked pipes.
Please Keep Off The Grass
Richmond will soon experience it's first frost of the season. This actually causes no harm to your grass. The damage is caused when someone walks across the frosty grass. Each blade is actually frozen, so when someone walks across the lawn, the blades are cracked and broken in half. This will cause a yellow discoloration and may not recover fully. The frost melts as soon as the sun hits it, so please try and stay off the lawn until then.
