November events ~ We are proud to have the former singer of CRASS this Saturday: Steve Ignorant is playing new vivid work with his acoustic band and rubbing against the grain for life. Tonight the psychedelic Los Siquicos Litoralenos from Argentina are performing. They make up their own myths and folklore; expect the unexpected! And next week we have Phew from Japan. She is one of the legendary electronic music pioneers from the 70s, forever mapping out new music fields. This is her first Dutch show ever!

Working class hero Steve Ignorant co-founded anarcho-punk band CRASS with Penny Rimbaud in 1977. After Crass, he sang with Conflict, Schwartzenegger et al. With his punk messages he influenced many people and latter musicians. Crass was one of those paradigm shifting bands. Driven by injustice and inequality issues Steve keeps targeting the status quo. With his new formation he developed his protest worthy spoken word to another level. To make sure you can get entry we advice you to purchase your tickets in the presale.

6.11 LOS SIQUICOS LITORALENOS (AR) \ GRID (US) w/ Matt Nelson, Tim Dahl and Nick Podgurski \ plus a local opening act by Vatcher \ Petruccelli \ Stadhouders
Mind-melting tropical psych-rock, pitched-down cumbias soaked in dub brine, swirling solar instrumentals, and surrealist shamanic lyrics laid across guitars, drums, tapes and electronics – bringing together multi-fidelity electric and acoustic psychic sound-forms from the greater depths of sound and surprise.

15.11 PHEW (JP) \ RAZEN (BE) \ DJ BENCE

Phew is visiting the Netherlands for the first time! Avant-garde vocalist and electronic music pioneer Phew is the former singer of the 70s punk band Aunt Sally. Past collaborations include Ryuichi Sakamoto of Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO), Jaki Liebezeit and Holger Czukay (Can), Alexander Hacke (Einstürzende Neubauten) and more recently, Ana da Silva (The Raincoats).

Razen celebrates their 10 years anniversary. Their latest album unfolds a hypnotic sonic landscape. It was recorded at a church and largely inspired by Carl Jung’s memories, dreams and reflections. For this special night at OCCII they will play uniquely created music pieces that will be presented as an in-situ performance.
