The WellSexuality Project
This project sought to investigate how young people in South Africa perceive and frame sexuality and sexual health. The project is a collaboration between young adults in Johannesburg, anthropologists based at the University of the Witwatersrand, and a biomedical researcher and artist who run the Eh!woza public engagement project from the University of Cape Town. The pilot study combined the strengths of anthropological research with the strategies of a youth-focused public engagement project in order to better understand how people mediate between public discourse, perceived information from institutions, and lived experiences of sexuality. The project consisted of a  two-day symposium and a performance evening held at the Kalashnikovv Gallery in Johannesburg as well as workshops (add link) with the young adults. Read more here.
