1.  Tokyo Disney operator upgrades profit view on record attendance

Oriental Land, the operator of Tokyo Disney Resort, on Wednesday raised its full-year profit forecast by 10.9 billion yen ($100 million) as theme park attendance topped estimates on the strength of new attractions.  The company now expects group net profit to fall by a less-steep 16% to 76.2 billion yen for the year ending in March.

2.  The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter Is Coming To Universal Beijing Resort

Universal Beijing Resort recently announced plans to open Universal Studios Beijing in 2021, a new theme park which will feature The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade as one of seven themed lands within the park.

3.  Meeting sheds more light on Universal's future Epic Universe theme park

The cafeteria at Tangelo Park Elementary School was busy late into the evening on Oct. 28, but instead of being filled with eager young students, it welcomed residents who live near the next major project in the region's future — Universal Orlando's Epic Universe.  Orange County's planning staff and Universal executives hosted a community meeting at the school to discuss an upcoming amendment to the "Universal Boulevard PD Land Use Plan" that makes up more than 1,300 acres the theme park giant owns along or near Sand Lake Road and Universal Boulevard.

4.  Lai Sun Group reveals opening date of Novotown

Hong Kong’s Lai Sun Group has announced the opening date for Novotown, an integrated tourism and entertainment complex on Hengqin Island in Zhuhai, China.

5.  Photo Update: Super Nintendo World in Japan levels up!

Super Nintendo World is loading in right before our eyes at Universal Studios Japan. This upcoming land, which is expected to open Spring of 2020, will feature Mario, Peach, Toad, Bowser and many more classic Nintendo characters. 6.  Falcon’s Creative Group to announce Katmandu partnership at IAAPA Expo 2019

Falcon’s Creative Group, the immersive experience creator, is exhibiting at IAAPA Expo 2019 in Orlando, where it will be sharing news about its new partnership with Katmandu.

The first project will be a new entertainment venue in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, set to be the first theme park in the country and designed to cater to millions of visitors and locals.

7.  Qiddiya signs MoU with Samsung to collaborate on giga-project

Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) and Samsung have agreed to collaborate on one of Saudi Arabia’s giga-projects, Qiddiya. Samsung C&T will create Qiddiya’s sports complex.

Qiddiya will be the world’s largest entertainment city, surpassing Walt Disney World in Florida. It will feature more than 300 attractions.  These include theme parks, water parks, a sports city, nature and adventure activities, events and cultural attractions.

8.  Missouri theme park sues Orange County man who built dark ride in his garage over trademark infringement

It’s a story as old as David and Goliath, but in this case Goliath has responded to David’s stones with a lawsuit.  A Missouri theme park that attracts more than 2 million visitors per year is suing an Orange County man who built a homemade dark ride in his garage for Halloween over who owns the trademarked name for a theme park attraction.  But the Silver Dollar City theme park in Branson, Missouri, didn’t throw the first punch. That surprising first blow was delivered by Scott D’Avanzo.

9.  Hong Kong police issue Halloween warning, as Ocean Park event scrapped and MTR to close early

Ocean Park has cancelled its annual Halloween Fest – one of its key tourist events – citing safety concerns. Meanwhile, police have warned that an unauthorised march is set to take place in the Central area on Thursday.

10.  Full-scale Godzilla themed area to open at western Japan park

A huge replica of Godzilla will open next summer at an anime theme park in western Japan, the operator said Thursday.  The "Godzilla Interception Operation Awaji" attraction in the Nijigen no mori theme park, on Awaji island, Hyogo Prefecture, is based on the 2016 film "Shin Godzilla," in which humans try to stop the creature after it crawls out of Tokyo Bay.

11.  Lunar New Year, Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival returning to Disneyland in 2020

Two guest-favorite events are returning to the Disneyland Resort in early 2020: Lunar New Year and the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival!  Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure is a celebration for people of all ages to commemorate Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese traditions alongside Disney characters.

12.  Disneyland changes Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge menu names so that visitors will know what they’re eating

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs has gotten a very unusual shipment of fried chicken, pork ribs and cinnamon rolls at his Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge restaurant in Disneyland from a galaxy far, far away — planet Earth.  Disneyland has changed the other-worldly Star Wars names of some menu items at the restaurants and food stands in the new 14-acre themed land to better incorporate the real-world earthly ingredients in the meals.

13.  Police fail in bid to get M&D's closed down after roller coaster crash

Police have failed in a bid to have a theme park closed down after a horror roller coaster crash in which nine people were injured.  Councillors last week gave unanimous backing to the operators of M&D's Theme Park in Strathclyde Park, near Motherwell, following the horrifying incident three years ago.  Their decision not to revoke a public entertainment licence was welcomed by the company which insisted the funfair is safe.

14.  Cedar Point’s Town Hall Museum collection to go to auction

On Monday, Nov. 18, a collection of historical amusement park artifacts will go up for auction at Gray’s Auctioneers in Cleveland, Ohio – pieces from the Cedar Point Town Hall Museum.  To make way for a new collection that will debut next year for the park’s 150th anniversary, 160 lots of vintage arcade games, antique trains, fairground amusements, and locally relevant historical artifacts will be auctioned off

15.  Tron rising, Ratatouille rounding out, and more construction updates from Walt Disney World

Construction around Walt Disney World has been ramping up in recent weeks as the resort prepares for its 50th anniversary in 2021, as well as the biggest park transformation in Disney history.  Starting outside Magic Kingdom, work is well underway on the updates to the entrance area of that park. Each park is receiving updates to their entrances and tram areas, with Disney’s Hollywood Studios being the first park to finish.

16.  Hit the Halloween wall? Here’s when Christmas celebrations kick in at the theme parks

Christmas is just around the corner, literally. In the days before Halloween, retailers and other businesses have been busting out the garland, and theme parks are no exception.  It’s been a somewhat subtle approach. For instance, the shiny red and white stars that line Sunset Boulevard during the holiday season popped up overnight at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. A string of greenery suddenly crept across the bridge at the Port of Entry at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

17.  Busch Gardens looking to fill more than 200 jobs for holiday season

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is looking to hire more than 200 part and full time positions for the holiday season.  The park is hiring for positions including food service attendants, park operation hosts, sales clerks, cooks and more.

18.  Alton Towers Resort to use fireworks never seen in the UK for Fireworks Spectacular

There's less than two weeks left until Alton Towers Resort closes its theme park for the winter and it's planning to end the season with a bang.  The Staffordshire-based resort has teamed up with the UK's most awarded fireworks company, Jubilee Fireworks, for the Fireworks Spectacular event and they will be bringing fireworks that have never been seen in the UK before.

19.  Adventure Land set to open at Bahria Town Karachi

Bahria Adventure Land is set to be inaugurated in Bahria Town Karachi which will offer people of all age groups a wide range of entertainment facilities.  Fireworks will also be held during the opening ceremony of the theme park, which is a specialty of Bahria Town.

20.  TRIOTECH’S XD DARK RIDE CELEBRATES 40,000-PLAYER MILESTONE AT PINBALLZ ARCADE

Triotech, the leading developer of media-based attractions, is celebrating the milestone of attracting 45,000 players onto its XD Dark Ride interactive theatre at the Pinballz Arcade in Austin, Texas.  The XD Dark Ride is an 8-seat attraction, which was installed at Pinballz Arcade in May 2017. The ride is centred on a unique competitive scoring system, which allows players to play against themselves or in groups.

1.  Cedar Point Sports Center Signs First Major Multi-Year Event Beginning in 2020

Cedar Point Sports Center, managed by The Sports Facilities Management (SFM), has announced the signing of a multi-year agreement with Ohio Basketball, securing a few of the first events in 2020.

K1 Speed, which is known for having the latest in European zero-emission electric go-karts, is partnering with David Tedesco and the Outlier team to help navigate the next stage of the company’s aggressive growth.

5.  Dick’s Sporting Goods at Town Center to turn into arcade, go-kart track, bowling alley

Town Center owner and developer Armada Hoffler announced Wednesday that it had signed a long-term lease with Apex Entertainment, a developer of indoor amusement parks in Massachusetts and New York.

6.  Air Force Museum bringing together several attractions for Friday celebration

Star Wars characters, zoo animals and more will bring the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force to life Friday night for a celebration that will bring together several attractions under one roof.

7.  Ferris Wheel, Fun Zone Proposed For Somerset Patriots Stadium

The Somerset Patriots celebrated their 20-year anniversary and announced plans to improve the ballpark projected over the next few years.

8.  An after-dark zip line adventure is coming to Manchester's Heaton Park

A new zip line adventure is launching in Manchester this winter - with the entire experience taking place under the cover of darkness.

9.  Urban Air Adventure Park Opening Soon In Mokena

The adventure park features indoor trampolines, rock climbing walls, bumper cars, a ropes course and more.

10.  Macquarie Group Ltd. Sells 14,517 Shares of Dave & Buster’s Entertainment Inc (NASDAQ:PLAY)

Macquarie Group Ltd. lessened its stake in shares of Dave & Buster’s Entertainment Inc (NASDAQ:PLAY) by 37.2% during the second quarter, according to the company in its most recent disclosure with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

1.  Europa-Park shows new impressions from Rulantica: Huge water world shines even before opening

In just a few weeks Europa-Park will open the largest expansion in the company's history with the new indoor water world Rulantica . From the 28th of November, guests of the huge water park will then be able to experience a total of 25 water attractions in nine theme areas . New pictures give you a taste of what to expect.

2.  Cedar Fair sees deadline for option on Schlitterbahn come and go

A lifeline for a roughly 40-acre water park in Kansas City, Kan., from the operator of Worlds of Fun has expired, once again creating questions about the future of the Schlitterbahn site.  When Cedar Fair LP, an Ohio-based amusement park operator (NYSE: FUN), purchased two Schlitterbahn locations in Texas for $261 million, it built into the deal an option to purchase the Kansas City, Kan., location for $6 million. The deal closed July 1, triggering the start of a 120-period for the option.

3.  Teacher strike? Slagharen throws open swimming pool and skating rink

The amusement park in Overijssel is said to be closed on November 6. Due to the strike, the Aqua Mexicana water park and the Winter Western Village indoor ice rink are being thrown open. "In Slagharen we make a virtue of necessity," says a spokeswoman.

American Wave Machines, a leading wave pool, surf park, and wave technology company, helped to make history at the National Finals for the Rip Curl Grom Search Series, held on PerfectSwell at BSR.

5.  Lifeguards needed for El Paso’s new water parks

The City of El Paso is now recruiting lifeguards and pool attendants for its inaugural season of its four new water parks – Camp Cohen, Chapoteo, Lost Kingdom and Oasis.  All four the resort-style water parks are under construction and will open in 2020. Each will feature a unique theme and water attractions ranging from spiraling water slides to interactive water playgrounds to inviting leisure pools.

6.  Great Wolf Lodge planned for El Paso. Here's what we know about the resort and city deal

Great Wolf Lodge in El Paso? City Council re-approved  a deal on Monday where the corporate chain could see life in mid-2020.  The agreement with Chicago-based Great Wolf Resorts is an effort to take advantage of state legislation passed this year.  The council voted 7-1, terminating its original agreement and bringing the new one to life during Monday’s meeting.

7.  Rhyl's SC2 attraction bags gold award from Visit Wales

RHYL's £15million waterpark is the latest attraction in Wales to achieve a Gold Award.  SC2 achieved the accolade from Visit Wales for the all-round quality of its visitor experience.

8.  Adventure Park's new $4 million waterslide is only one of two in Australia

What kid (or adult) doesn’t like sliding down a giant waterslide? Waterslide enthusiasts are in luck this summer because Adventure Park Geelong has a brand new (sort of amazingly terrifying) waterslide.  The $4 million waterslide is Victoria’s first triple funnel water slide of its size and is only one of two in Australia. The Tsunami stands at a mighty 7.5 storeys high and is 172 metres in length, with four guests per raft taken up the slide through three mega funnels.
Aquarium / Zoo News

1.  Milwaukee County Zoo expects new hippo exhibit to open in June 2020 

Happy and Patti, the Milwaukee County Zoo's 38-year-old male and 49-year-old female hippos, will be getting a new home in the summer of 2020 as the Milwaukee County Zoo in partnership with the Zoological Society of Milwaukee continues its Adventure Africa campaign.

2.  Japan's oldest monorail in Tokyo zoo makes final run

Japan's oldest monorail, which has operated at a Tokyo zoo since 1957, made its final run on Thursday, with fans bidding a fond farewell.  Fans both young and old gathered to take pictures and board the two-car-monorail that runs 330 meters between western and eastern parts of Tokyo Zoological Gardens.

3.  32,000-square-foot Living Shores Aquarium gets unveiling Nov. 4 in Glen

 Children’s theme park Story Land opens the doors to its new Living Shores Aquarium on Monday, Nov. 4.  “There is nothing like this close by,” curator David Houghton said.  Located on Route 16, adjacent to and north of Story Land, Living Shores is situated in the former Heritage New Hampshire, which from 1976 through 2006, told an interactive history of the Granite State.

4.  Brevard Zoo’s latest expansion set to open this month BY ERNEST ARICO

Visitors will get a special treat when the Brevard Zoo’s newest exhibits open Nov. 16.  The exhibits are part of the Brevard Zoo’s $4.4 million “Rainforest Revealed” expansion. Officials say it’s the biggest expansion in the zoo’s 25-year history.

5.  WORLD’S FRIENDLIEST RODENT DEBUTS AT TARONGA ZOO

Sydney’s Taronga Zoo recently opened its new Capybara habitat, which is the first time these adorable animals have been on display in Sydney.  It’s home to a herd of five cheeky new recruits - Pedro, Guillermo, Sanchez, Carlos and Rodney. Their new habitat at Taronga incorporates open, grassed areas for grazing, large trees to provide shade, thicker shrubbery for shelter, and a large water feature for swimming and soaking.

6.  NEW Zoo in Suamico welcomes new giraffe Nigel; first public viewing is Nov. 2

The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park has a new giraffe.  Nigel, a 9-year-old male reticulated giraffe, arrived this week from the Erie Zoo in Pennsylvania, but he won't make his public debut until Saturday. He and Zuri, the NEW Zoo's female giraffe, were introduced this week and he is getting comfortable in his new home. 

7.  Monkey injured trying to stop intruder from taking son at Kansas zoo has died

A monkey that was injured last month trying to protect his offspring from being taken by an intruder during an apparent break-in at a Kansas zoo has died.  Officials at the Wright Park Zoo in Dodge City say the 32-year-old Tufted Capuchin monkey was found unresponsive early Tuesday. City spokeswoman Abbey Martin says the zoo’s veterinarian was unable to revive the monkey, named Vern.

8.  Polish zoo moves to rescue tigers stranded at the border

A zoo in western Poland is trying to save nine tigers from Italy that have been stranded for days in small cages at the border with Belarus. Another tiger in the group has already died.  Authorities in Belarus are refusing to let the transport in, saying the Italian caretakers have no visas and lack the necessary veterinary documents for the animals.

9.  Meet a sloth, flamingo or stingray: Phoenix Zoo adds three new behind-the-scenes tours

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Zoo has added a trio of behind-the-scenes tours where people can get an up-close look at Fernando, a Linne's two-toed sloth, go on a walk with the zoo's hand-reared flamingo chicks and feed them, or step into the stingray pool to pet and feed some of the stingrays.

10.  Mystic Aquarium Plans Research On Beluga Whales Expected To Arrive From Facility In Canada

PRNewswire/ -- Mystic Aquarium is poised to conduct critical, conservation-focused research in anticipation of the arrival of five beluga whales born at a facility in Canada. The transfer is awaiting approval from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Marine Fisheries Service.
