We share this week's cartoon, not full of nuns, but full of furry squirrels (tree-rats) for two purposes.
First, to thank all the wonderfully creative and generous souls who have so faithfully sought to solve our squirrels-eating-the-houses problem. We have received indoor and outdoor electronic devices, chili sauce, repellent powder, sulfur spray, and various other treatments as well as homemade recipes for oiling down the wood, spraying it with WD-40, making a hot pepper paste as "wood putty" to fill in the chew holes. This includes offers to hunt them down, trap them, and even a foiled attempt to use an air cartridge pellet gun (that alas, exploded). We did find a combination of methods helped. The indoor anti-mouse devices really proved useful and we are experimenting with means to outdoor-proof them to test on the squirrels.
Second, to announce that we may need some additional help but not what you think. We have by God's Providence unexpectedly received a feline with some hunting experience. He is currently transitioning into new housing and adapting to living with nuns. He is the strong, silent type (we are really excited about that last part...silent!!!) and we don't want to draw undue publicity to him but, in anticipation that he may occasionally appear in our cartoons, we need a good nom-de-plume (pen name) for him so we can respect what little privacy he hassurrounded by a bunch of nuns.
Suggestions can be emailed in to contact@nunsforpriests.org or you can post them on our Facebook or Twitter feeds and Deacon Scott Maentz will get them to us.
Angels and Saints of God, pray for us!
