TNTs ...?

Toonie Night Training?
Tuesday Night Training?
 Winter orienteering!!

TNTs are evenings of informal orienteering through the winter using reflective "flags" that you can see well (with a headlamp!) They usually start and finish at someone's house but it could also be a coffee shop or pub! Organizers might use a regular O map or a version of google maps or City of Calgary maps! TNTs end with some socializing over a pot of soup and treats!  Anyone can host a TNT, and opportunities may come up at the last minute! Check the website calendar frequently so you don't miss out!

Who's Who at SOGO

Bonnie Fasoli hails from Foothills Academy, where she was a teacher in Physical Education. Thanks to the efforts from Bob MacDonald, Bonnie has made her way onto the SOGO team as a SOGO@School Coach and in the winter months our Strategic Development Planner. With a desire to make a career change towards getting kids outside and into the wild, Bonnie's background has so far been a great addition to our SOGO Team!

Damian Konotopetz needs little introduction in this community as a member of Orienteering Canada’s High Performance Program. This will be Damian's second season as one of our Level 3 coaches for our new Monday program. We are fortunate and happy to have such a high profile athlete on our SOGO Coaching Team.

This will be Shelley Brolsma's second season with SOGO. Her first season was spent spearheading our SOGO Cochrane Level 1 program. This season she kindly took on our littlest runners in our Cochrane and Calgary Squirts program. Shelley lives in Cochrane and has a strong background in fitness coaching, and we are happy to have her kind energy and support on our SOGO team.

Marcus Mueller already has a strong background with our program as a SOGO athlete and now coach. Marcus has returned to coach with SOGO, taking on two vital roles of our Level 2 Coach and Assistant Head Coach with Jasmine. We are happy to have Marcus back on our SOGO team!

From ski jumping to orienteering, Jasmine Sepandj is a well-rounded athlete and familiar within our community of orienteers. She has more recently been studying Kinesiology at the University of Calgary intermixed with her new role as our Level 1 and 2 Head Coach. We are happy to have Jasmine on our SOGO team, and we certainly do not worry about her ability to handle the cold!
Spook-O 2019
SOGO hosted an awesome afternoon of control haunting on October 26! Orienteers of all ages joined the fun at Shaganappi Park, running courses, doing agility exercises, a candy guessing contest, and enjoying hot chocolate and chili after the outside time.  It was great to see some participants do all three courses!  Thanks to the volunteers and staff who put in so much time to make this an exciting event.
