Thriving Cohesive Communities grants

Thriving Cohesive Communities Grants form part of the Queensland Government’s social cohesion program to build cohesive and resilient Queensland communities and foster a strong sense of belonging for all Queenslanders.

More than $900,000 of grant funding is available for community projects of up to 18 months duration that strengthen family and community connection and support young people to take up meaningful roles in their community.

Events: Information sessions on Human Rights Act 2019

Information sessions on Queensland's Human Rights Act 2019, which commences on 1 January 2020, are to be held for non-government organisations across the state.

The Queensland Government, in partnership with Queensland Human Rights Commission (QHRC) and QCOSS, will hold human rights information sessions in 10 locations across Queensland.

The events are free and attendance is limited to one or two representatives from each organisation. 

Celebrating multicultural Queensland program

Funding: Celebrating Multicultural Queensland Program

The Celebrating Multicultural Queensland (CMQ) program is an annual program that provides funding towards multicultural events and projects that engage people from culturally diverse backgrounds to contribute to building an inclusive, harmonious and united Queensland.

The 2019–20 multicultural projects funding round is now open for funding applications and will close on 6 December 2019.

Eligible applicants can apply for funding of up to $40,000 for multicultural projects.

Effective supervision of staff, including adequate induction, training and ongoing support, is a critical part of complying with the Human Services Quality Framework (HSQF).

Dr Eleanor Glenn, from Common Cause has written this blog discussing Australia reMADE and the upcoming Queensland reMADE gathering in Brisbane next month.
 
The gathering will bring together a broad group of advocates and community members across sectors to talk about how we can create a common agenda for Queensland that brings out the best version of us.

National Disability Insurance Scheme

NDIS: Six years on - insights from the Hunter

CSIA is holding a one-day event, in Brisbane, full of insights, learnings and opportunities from a range of organisations, people with disabilities and financial experts to help you prepare for the NDIS.

One of the key trial sites for the NDIS was the Hunter region and six years on they have learnt a lot. The presenters will share with you what they wish they had known three years earlier.
