Future Agro Challenge This Weekend

Hi <<First Name>>,

Future Agro Challenge is on this weekend on the Tablelands!

Just making sure you all know the Future Agro Challenge is on this weekend on the Tablelands and officially launches QLD Agtech Month!
This event is part of a global competition and has an important goal in keeping the ‘Ag’ in ‘AgTech’ and ensuring we can actively support new ideas that will solve on-farm problems.  It is one of only a few Agtech events in the world hosted on farm to ensure a close connection between technology and agriculture is maintained.  This is a fantastic event for the Tablelands and needs your support!  Please share with your networks and encourage people to come along!

The Startups pitching their businesses are:

- SWAN is a precision agriculture system that guides irrigation and nutrient scheduling to improve economic and environmental returns.

- BioScout is an airborne real-time disease tracking platform, which lets farmers know as soon as plant diseases are present so they can be addressed before significant loss of crops.

- MPT Agtech ‘Smart Seeder’ technology measures the properties of the soil in real-time while seeding, and using onboard Edge-Artificial Intelligence, is able to optimise itself for best seed placement.

- Ubot provides autonomous Citrus Harvestor pickers that work on deep learning algorithms, costs less than a human and work 24/7.SmartShepherd determines maternal pedigree in free-range livestock in just 48 hours using low-cost Bluetooth hardware and an algorithm.

- UAG Bio Nutrients delivers nutrient-dense organic fertilisers for regenerative farming – made from organic waste to increase the productivity of soil and decrease the world’s food waste challenges.

As part of the Australian Future Agro Challenge, KPMG Australia’s Head of AgriTech Ben van Delden will be visiting our region. In his role, Ben has worked extensively with industry clients for over two decades on agriculture and food trends, including both changing food product demands and new farm technology. He has worked with all levels of government to provide advice on agriculture opportunities and AgTech; as well as with Horticulture Innovation, Meat & Livestock Australia, CSIRO, amongst numerous others, and leads KPMG’s industry tours across the world to identify industry trends in other agriculture countries that can be utilised by farmers in Australia.

It is a great opportunity to have Ben bring his industry insight to the Tablelands. He will be speaking at an event on Saturday evening – you can book your ticket at https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/ausfac-pitching-event-and-presentation-dinner-tickets-76718817047 (the event runs across the afternoon, Ben’s speaking slot will be at approximately 6pm).
