Save the Date: Festival of Communities Returns

News hot off the press: we have a date for the Festival of Communities 2020! The fifth edition of the festival will be taking place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June 2020 in Stepney Green Park (Saturday) and Mile End Campus (Sunday). Make sure you pop it in your diaries ready for a weekend exploring the best that Tower Hamlets has to offer.
We will be launching the call for activities and the applications for funding in January so keep your eyes peeled!

The UK's only festival celebrating the humanities is almost upon us. Between the 14 and 23 November, join QM researchers as they showcase the fantastic work they're involved in as part of the 'This Time It's Personal' Hub which will unravel the personal stories of the world around us.

News: Wellcome Trust Engagement Fellowship for Kimberley Freeman

We are delighted to announce that Kimberley Freeman, Director of the Centre for Public Engagement, has been awarded a Wellcome Trust Engagement Fellowship as a two year full-time secondment. Her fellowship will focus on challenging how research priorities are set, to encourage a move towards a more engaged research culture nationally. We wish Kimberley every success on her Fellowship and look forward to working with her on it. Recruitment for cover for Kimberley’s role as Director of the Centre for Public Engagement is live now.

Event: It’s time to change Science Education

With a shortage of scientists going into teaching and accusations that the science curriculum is overloaded and dry, Professor Becky Parker’s Inaugural Lecture will be suggesting bold changes to revolutionise science teaching and studying. The lecture will be taking place today (Thursday 31 October) from 6:30-8:30pm in the People’s Palace, Mile End Campus
