MEN'S SOCCER (7-7-1, 5-4-1 GSC): The Bucs traveled to West Alabama on Friday for a 1-0 victory in double overtime. The double overtime was repeated on Sunday in the match against the University of Alabama in Huntsville, which finally ended with a 2-2 tie. VOLLEYBALL (6-19, 3-6 GSC):The Lady Bucs returned to Canale Arena for a match against Henderson State last Tuesday and jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but the Reddies rallied back to claim a 3-2 victory. On Friday, the team took its first three-set GSC sweep of the season in a victory over Valdosta State at Canale Arena. West Georgia won the Saturday match at Canale, 3-0. CROSS COUNTRY: The CBU cross country teams participated in the 2019 Gulf South Conference Cross Country Championship at the University of Montevallo Cross Country Course Saturday morning. Two CBU runners earned All-GSC honors as they led the Lady Bucs to a sixth-place finish and the Bucs to a fifth-place team result. Johanna Wistokat finished 13th of 91 runners in the women's 5k race, earning second-team All-GSC honors. Peter Torres led the Bucs to their highest finish since 2012 (5th) as he crossed the finish line with a time of 25:55.28. His finish helped him land in 11th of 105 runners in the men's 8k race, which also placed him on the All-GSC second-team. CBU's next meet will be the NCAA Div. GOLF: The Bucs wrapped up play at the Matt Dyas Invitational last Wednesday with a ninth place finish. CBU faced off against a pair of teams currently ranked in the top 10. TENNIS: The Lady Bucs finished a three-match weekend slate October 18-20 with a 2-1 record, dropping their first contest at Henderson State 1-6, and bounced back to knock off Ouachita Baptist (6-1) and Freed-Hardeman (6-0). The Bucs earned a 7-0 victory over visiting Freed-Hardeman at Windyke Country Club.
MEN'S BASKETBALL (0-0): The Memphis Tigers used a 20-3 run over an eight-minute span in the second half to pull way for an 86-53 exhibition win over the Bucs on Thursday night at Fed Ex Forum.
