Alumna Highlight: Trissia Wijaya

Trissia Wijaya is a graduate from the Global Cooperation Program of Ritsumeikan University’s Graduate School of International Relations (GSIR) as a government-sponsored international student from Indonesia.

Wijaya chose GSIR due to its prime location in Kansai, the high quality level of instructors, and the ample private spaces for studying or conducting research. Japan presented access to various resources on Indonesia that enabled her to objectively analyze Indonesia. She was able to conduct research on the economic activity of Chinese people in Indonesia to understand various issues in her home country. Support from teachers also made GSIR an ideal place to feel comfortable in making changes and corrections to her master’s thesis.

In the future, Wjiaya would like to become a researcher who looks at the world from both the Japanese and South Asia prospective as a staff member at a university in Australia or Japan.
