Hi Chapter Leaders,
You may have noticed your chapter wordpress site displaying a warning about upgrading the PHP version. Please pass this information on to the volunteer who manages your website.
Your chapters website on our ACM SIGGRAPH A2 hosting should be updated to PHP 7.3 for better performance.
The PHP version change can be done in our A2 hosting environment via cPanel.
It can be found in the "Software" section, labeled "Select PHP Version". Set 7.3 as current.
Please note some chapters have cPanel access and others can request for me to do the update for you. In either case you need to ensure that your site will operate properly with PHP 7.3 prior to the update.
This is a pretty simple process that is described in these 2 articles -
If you do not have cPanel access please verify that your site will work with PHP 7.3. When this is done let me know and I will do the update for you.
If your chapter was provided with cPanel access please update yourself to PHP 7.3 once you have checked your site for compatibility with PHP 7.3
The Chapters Template has been tested with PHP 7.3 and all the default plugins seem to be compatible as work as before.
Cheers,
Jenny Dana, ACM SIGGRAPH PSCC Information Technology Services Chair
