When C. David Moody struck out on his own in 1988, he and his wife were in debt, struggling to make ends meet, and working out of their bedroom. Over thirty years later, C.D. Moody Construction is a thriving enterprise that has completed over 200 commercial projects worth almost $3 billion.

Birchbox Gets Unbothered: A Popular Subscription Box Gets a ‘For Us, By Us’ Curation (The Root)

Unbothered, Refinery29’s online platform for Black millennial women and femme empowerment, recently partnered with nine-year-old subscription box brand Birchbox on two exclusive hair and skincare kits curated by and for Black women. The collections—the “Stay Radiant” kit and the “It’s Your Crown” kit, created especially for 4C hair—include crowd-sourced picks from the Unbothered community and “address black women’s biggest beauty priorities, needs and concerns,” according to a release on the collaboration.

Nordstrom opened a massive NYC flagship store today, complete with 7 stories of shopping and 7 places for shoppers to eat. Take a look inside. (Business Insider)

In addition to its modern design and plush decor, the 320,000-square-foot new store also includes seven food and beverage offerings and the Nordstrom Beauty Haven spa. Take a look inside here.
