Shilajit is a herbo-mineral compound. According to Ayurveda when mountains get warmed due to strong rays of sun during summer, they ooze a thick semisolid black resin type substance. This is known as Shilajit. Since it has its origin in shila or stones, it is “shila – jit”

Acharya Bhava Prakasha recommends this in obesity, urinary calculi, diabetes, Cystitis, bronchitis, haemorrhoids and anemia. It is also useful in skin diseases like psoriasis, acne, pimple and its use helps to enhance glow of skin.
