Tramfabriek Newsletter October 2019

Hello tram and train fans,

Tomorrow, Saturday the 26th of October, the Tramfabriek will be exhibiting at ExpoNG, one of the major narrow gauge events on the calendar in the UK. This will take place in Swanley, east from London. Anyone who is in the area, I'm looking forward to greet you at the Tramfabriek stand. We'll be taking our two running dioramas with us, as well as the sales stand.

The Narrow gauge model railway exhibition is at the White Oak Leisure Centre, Hilda May Avenue, Swanley, BR8 7BT.

Trams and motorised chassis update

In the last year I've been extremely busy with the coreless motor part of my business. In fact, it has become the core of my business and modelling becomes the hobby again. Before I am going to release the announced Dutch steam tram "Ooievaar", I'll first have to work on the back log of orders of previous models and orders for motorised chassis. I am training Jen, my new assistent, so she can help build the currrent, but also future models. She is very skilled, but of course you don't learn to solder a highly detailed and very fine model overnight. You can meet Jen at ExpoNG, she'll also be (wo)manning the stand during the day. To the people that have ordered a model or a drive, I have to continue to ask you for a bit more patience. I'm working on it to catch up with the work and get your model to you as soon as possible. I am grateful you have been showing your appreciation and understanding that quality products take time. You can't rush these things.

Product highlights

Train-O-Matic Digital products
As I am regularly in contact between two markets, England and The Netherlands/Germany, I noticed that in the east most people are running digital layouts, but in England analog still is king. Which is a pity, as nowadays, it is relatively easy to get into digital control. And not expensive. Train-O-Matic is doing its part by offering great products for a very friendly price. One of the top sellers is their Smart Power Pack (SPP). For people that have problems with trains with a short wheel base, stalling on dirty tracks or dead points, these powerpacks are lifesavers and take away a lot of frustration. I have installed one in the Tillig H0e T1 and T3 and it gives me about 4 seconds of extra power. It only stops when I want it to.

On the picture you see the SPP powerpack at the left, with a Doehler & Haass sound decoder at the right.

I will have the whole range of Train-O-Matic decoders with me at ExpoNG, which can all be connected to the powerpack. If you want to know more what it can do for you, check out our website or come and ask about it at ExpoNG. We are happy to explain it to you.

Other products we'll be bringing to ExpoNG:

- Our really brilliant, ultra thin wire
- New are the M0.3 worms that fit straight on our motors
- Train-Tech Smart Screens, LED departure screen. These are tiny, interactive departure screens. You've got to see this believe it!
- We've got the cheapest quality 8 mm disc wheels for H0e/009 in the whole of Great Britain. We also have 6.2mm and 7mm disc wheels.
- Our popular gear puller. A model train technician can't be without.
- The very useful Centre Point Coupling, which pulls the coach not from the body, but from the centre of the bogie.
- And of course we'll be bringing our ever popular coreless motors

Over the years, our product range has been growing. I can't highlight it all here with snappy pictures or even display it at an event. Take your time browsing the website and see what we have on offer. As usual, if you have any question, please contact me and I'll be responing as soon as possible. Some people would think I work 7 days a week... 😅

Hope to see you tomorrow at ExpoNG! If not, I'll be soon in the Netherlands at Houten Digitaal on the 9th and 10th of November 2019.

Best regards,
Sven van der Hart
