It's our anniversary and you get the gifts

It is our 8th anniversary!

In these last 8 years, we have served over 4.000 people and produced more than 40 events among plays, readings, community events, and workshops. Throughout this time we received a Brazilian International Press Award for Best Actress to Andressa Furletti at Inside the Wild Heart 2018, Nancy Quinn Fund Award 2018 and NALAC Grant Award 2014. A nomination as Best Choreography and Movement at The Innovation Theatre Awards 2014. Over 20 award nominations among the international Brazilian Community, including categories like Best Cultural Institution, Best Cultural Event, Best Actor and Best Actress.

And there is much more to come!

We are very grateful for the support of our growing community and very happy to continue our mission of presenting Brazilian culture through the performing arts in New York.

See our upcoming events below, they are all free/donation-based!
This is our gift to our supporting community.

“The Wizard of Cosme Velho” from Rio de Janeiro, Machado de Assis (1839-1908), has been widely revered by American writers from Susan Sontag to Woody Allen and was a contemporary of Henry James and Mark Twain. As his star is now on the rise over North America, join us for a thrilling introduction to his distinctive spell. He came closer, perhaps, than any other writer to transforming reading itself into an act of Theatre.

In this lush production from Brazilian director Christiane Jatahy, a single story creates two worlds. Two audiences arrive: one starts at the BAM Fisher, the other at BAM Rose Cinemas. Both see the same performance, but through two very different lenses: theater and film, created and transmitted live. Then, cut. Intermission. The audiences switch places.
