Join us for autumn stew in the garden!

Saturday, October 26th, 11am to 1pm

Blue Hill Heritage Trust: 157 Hinckley Ridge Road

We'll learn great gardening skills, as well as do a little work in BHHT's new community garden, and break bread together on a beautiful fall day.

FREE and Open to All, come learn about:

-Putting your gardens to bed for the season with Jo Barrett, formerly of King Hill Farm. This will include important tips on what nutrients to (and not to) add to your garden before the winter season, and how/why/when to plant a cover crop.

- Planting Garlic, with Healthy Peninsula's Magic Food Bus Manager Anna Wind. Using local organic garlic grown by kids from Brooksville's school garden club, join Anna in a lesson in planting garlic and the many stages you can enjoy garlic in the next season.

- Creating a Winter Native Seed Nursery, with the SEED Barn's Lee-Lee. Join Lee Lee in learning how to sow native seeds in a winter native seed nursery right in your own back yard. Seeds will be provided for participants to take home and try on their own property!

Keep an eye out for the Maine Home Design Awards this winter!

We at the SEED Barn are thrilled to have received the reader's choice award for Best Landscape Design!
Lee Lee will be demonstrating her approach on restoring native plants to create meadow habitat, and explain how the new community garden at the Blue Hill Heritage Trust will become a part of the network of living SEED libraries that invite community participation in local restoration projects.
