Nov. 13 Webinar — Sharing the Sun: U.S. Community Solar Data and Cost

October 30, 2019

Hear from NREL and other industry experts on the latest trends in community solar projects across the United States

In the United States, more than 1,500 cumulative megawatts of community solar projects have been installed across 40 states. What are the ongoing trends in subscription costs, project deployment, and state policies for this rapidly growing market?

On November 13, the U.S. Department of Energy National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) will host a webinar titledSharing the Sun: U.S. Community Solar Data and Cost.”

Presenters will cover trends in community solar deployment across the country, with a focus on the types of subscriptions being offered and their value proposition to subscribers.

Using data collected from industry partners and publicly available information, this webinar will address key questions:
  • How are customers paying for community solar?
  • Is payment upfront, ongoing, or a hybrid model?
  • What is the estimated net present value of subscriptions in different state markets?
Anyone with an interest in community solar is encouraged to join. This webinar seeks to inform utilities, community solar developers, state policymakers, and the academic community.

Hear from experts within industry, including:
  • NREL Senior Energy Analyst Jenny Heeter
  • Clean Kilowatts Research Analyst Eric O’Shaughnessy
  • University of Minnesota Assistant Professor Gabriel Chan.
This webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, November 13, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. (MT).
