SELF CARE EXERCISES for women.

The next class will be November 16

10 45 (for an 11am start) - 12 30pm

at Haven Wellness Women’s Fitness & Yoga Studio
46 Edward St, Summer Hill

Learn to gently switch on the bodies ability to self correct, reduce pain, increase comfortable movement & regulate the nervous system. The November class will have an emphasis on lower back and hip pain but it will also cover ankle, knee and shoulder pain.

Classes offer
- gentle, effective exercises based on Osteopathic and yoga therapy techniques & principles.
- simple, easy positions targeted to facilitate the healing of musculoskeletal issues as well as to quieten the nervous system.
- a chance
to practice exercises you might have had suggested as follow up after a session

exercises that promote awareness, pain management, healing and maintenance

Each person has slightly different needs and I will cover how to adjust the positions to work best for each person. During this process, people learn how to apply the principles & techniques so these can later be used for maintenance and to catch niggles before they get worse. An example of one of these principles is putting the body into positions of comfort so tension and strain patterns let go so the body is then able to self correct.

During treatments I offer self care exercises to support work that happens in a session. These classes are a chance get more detail, precision & practice but the exercises are ‘stand alone' i.e. participants don't need to have received treatments (most of the participants won't have!)
I'm a qualified Ortho-Bionomy practitioner and have comprehensive training & experience teaching self care. I also bring to the classes yoga teacher training with Eve Grzybowski, one of Australia’s best-known and beloved yoga teachers and Donna Farhi's yoga teacher training for resolving back pain and working with the Psoas muscle.

Yoga belts and Pilates balls will be available on the day ($10 each) to assist on-going practice of exercises at home but are not essential items.
Please wear loose comfortable clothing.
