On the North Shore of Oahu near historic Haleiwa town, lies a rare and significant cultural site nestled just inland from the shore upon the ancient Ahupuaʻa of Kawailoa. Famous for its profusion of fresh water springs and flowing streams that give abundance to Mahiʻai farmers and Kanaka Lawaiʻa fishermen who’ve sustained generations with bountiful harvests, native fish, and aquatic plants.

Together, we will witness the distinct 400 year old Loko Puʻuone fishpond connected to the sea and spiritually home to Laniwahine, the Moʻowahine female water guardian of the third largest wetland on the island.
