"Now is the time for Africa!"
Hi friends, At the beginning of October we had the privilege of hosting the YWAM South Central Africa Regional conference here at the base in Blantyre! This conference happens every 2 years and we welcomed over 200 YWAMers from across our region (Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Angola) for a time of celebration, worship, re commitment and connecting. It was great to connect with so many fellow YWAMers and also receive teaching about the covenants God has made with YWAM and the things He has specifically called us to as a mission. One of the key messages of the conference was the call to see African Missionaries sent out to the nations! That we have seen western missionaries go, and now Brasil and South Korea are sending many missionaries - but "now is the time for Africa!". This has always been the call we felt God give us in our ministry here in Malawi so it was great to hear others are contending to see this happen too! We finished the conference feeling exhausted but envisioned and encouraged - dreaming with Father how to see the African wave of missionaries GO! |

Well I think I did something a little crazy. Our very flat roof on the base kept on leaking last year so we decided to take it off and put a new high pitched one on. 2/3 is done 1/3 to go and 4 days until a heavy rain and wind is forecast.
There is good reason behind this craziness though- Our aim in Blantyre Malawi has been to set up a centre that will train many future generations of missionaries. The base infrastructure is one area we have aimed to make strong and reliable, so that the Malawian leaders can use it easily. The very flat roof and old wiring we initially inherited when we bought the property is an area that has to be sorted out. After we took the roof off we found some structural issues and in fixing them we ran out of money, but the roof must go on! Please pray and send money! Or roofing sheets 😀

DTS
At the beginning of October the staff and students from the Africa Impact DTS started their 8 week outreach phase, putting into practice what they have learnt in the lecture phase. They started off serving in our primary school, and then worked tirelessly cooking the food and cleaning the toilets during the conference! Now they have gone out into Malawi to help pioneer two new YWAM bases - one in Zomba (a small town 1 hour from Blantyre), and the other in Dzaleka which is the refugee camp in Malawi |

Upcoming Schools
The next Discipleship Training School started this week! Jimmy from Burundi is going to be leading this school for the first time. We are so proud of this excellent JHOP DTS team for 2019! They are going to meet God together with these students coming from all over the world to learn to be missionaries. Please be praying for them and all of us as we host this discipleship school. |

So happy with the progress at the school. Listen to this. "We are trying to have a positive impact through partnership. Our government teachers have worked hard over the last year, especially in the upper section of the school. The first set of results for standard 8 ranked the school number one in the zone and 19th in Blantyre rural out of 143 schools. On thursday, I visited the school and found standard six and seven having lessons for free from our teachers on their holidays so there are dedicated Malawian teachers out there who value the children to walk on this journey with. Training, partnership and God's grace seem to be good ingredients.we don't have the answer but are definitely willing to engage with the challenges." Chris Scutt education circle champion

New YWAM Centres launch!
YWAM Zomba has launched and last month, we got to visit and fellowship and celebrate the amazing property they have found, the minibus and licence God has provided and pray for breakthrough for their own land, team growth and ministries. Our Africa Impact DTS students are with them at the moment, helping to launch this ministry. You must consider visiting this team and base. Come reach out with them!
Tresor and Falone have now moved to Dzaleka to launch a new YWAM centre, and had a beautiful baby boy!! One of our DTS teams are on their way to help them as they launch this new YWAM work. Please be praying for them as they move into this new season |
