We have wonderful news. We have a full team nominated from each of the three main villages of Hinihon, Hinangave, and Perene. There are a total of 7 translators, 6 men and 1 woman. These men and women have volunteered to receive training and commit their time and abilities to the work of Bible translation. In our last newsletter you met Belinda, the female translator from Hinihon. Here are the rest:
Gabriel Piom
Born 1993. Finished Grade 10.
He is from Hinihon
Gebi Bis
Born 1988. Finished Grade 7.

He is from Perene.
Mark Kenek
Born 1996. Finished Grade 8.
Mark enjoys playing soccer.
He is from Hinangave.
Neisong Nali
Born 1966. Finished Grade 10.
"Bible translation simplifies the Bible so we can understand."
Neisong Nali is a leader in the community and within the church. He worked on the Pamosu translation previously. He is from Hinangave.
Ilasa Agai
Born 1999. Finished Grade 8.
Soccer is Ilasa's favorite sport.
He is from Hinihon.
Ovokare Sasokele
Born 1980. Finished Grade 8.

The name of each Pamosu village is marked in red. Each village may include up to four hamlets. This map does not indicate elevation, which is a large factor when hiking the rugged terrain.
With their choice to translate the Bible come challenges, responsibilities, and joys. Our next step as a team will be to train together to become better ministers of God’s Word. This will require resources, time, and prayer. We have already begun acquiring some of the physical resources that will enable the work like cell phones and some portable solar panels that can charge laptops. Though this will not fully equip the team it is a start. At the end of April 2020 is the next Translator Training Course being held in Ukarumpa (the Mission center). The course is designed as a practical hands-on process to not only teach people about the translation process but use the ongoing translation efforts in their indigenous languages to learn further translation methods.
Donations go to the SIL administered Pamosu Project account. It will be used for supplies like computers, training, and building projects like a house/office where the team can gather and work together. The Pamosu speakers’ churches are contributing resources as well.
We, Jason & Brenda, still have a lot of language learning to do, so they will also be teaching us their language. Jason will be heading out to the village via land route in November to supply what is currently available to the Pamosu translators, give some technical advice, and prepare them for the plans of the coming year.
