Celebrating the great things happening in Leeds

Charities, community groups and organisations across Leeds have been taking to social media this month to celebrate the fantastic things they do to bring people in Leeds together.

The #TogetherLeeds campaign, which is officially supported by organisations including Leeds City Council, Leeds Rhinos Foundation, Leeds Community Foundation and Leeds United Football Club, encourages users on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to share the stories, projects, events and activities that bring people together, using the hashtag ‘#TogetherLeeds’.

Since launching on Monday 21 October, over 160 people have shared the small (and large) acts that make Leeds such a unified and friendly place to live and work.  Posts have included the stories of a holiday play scheme in Bramley, an ex-prisoner making new relationships through volunteering, a young leader bringing communities together through cricket and a development charity that hosts conversations between communities about our shared interests and values.

Chief Executive of Leeds City Council, Tom Riordan, said:

“It’s great to be supporting #TogetherLeeds bringing the amazing charities and communities of Leeds together… let’s get behind it and showcase the excellent work to promote cohesion in Leeds!”

Help this Third Sector Leeds campaign by sharing your news and great activities using #TogetherLeeds and let's get it trending!
