Adult Forum
Sunday, Nov 1, 11:00am

“Stewarding  the Ache of Grief”. As part of our Harvest of Gratitude Stewardship Emphasis, the November Adult Forums will focus on a broader, Biblical view of stewardship beyond financial stewardship that includes the “stewardship” of our experiences and emotions.
STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN

We are beginning our stewardship campaign with the theme Harvest of Gratitude. There will be brief talks in worship services, Adult Forum presentations and, in November, a pledge drive. In these activities we explore how we can live out God’s mission her at Mt. Carmel.
Bring your appetite and help raise money for the Mt. Carmel middle and high school youth programs. Baked potatoes with all the ‘fixins’ can be enjoyed here, or taken home for later. Meals that include a potato and chili will also be available. The Potato Bar will be open both before and after the Adult Forum.
I/we want to thank those who met often, worked hard and applied thoughtfulness to the previously known as "Norms Group" and renamed "Journey Forward" teams. I/we also want to thank the congregation for participating in all the conversations and surveys that were so important to the process. It was a long journey with all the usual bumps. However, with the initial groundwork provided by Deb Prieto of Turning West, I/we believe we achieved several positive accomplishments and opened doors to constructive conversations. At our celebration on Sunday Oct 27, 2019 we identified some of the participants on this team. A heart felt thank you to the hospitality team that helped us host such a delicious celebration!
I/we would like to highlight and thank everyone that provided guidance for and to the Journey Forward team since we began meeting in July 2018!

Sincerely - Journey Forward team(s)
When we proposed doing a jacket drive for the migrant families along with the October Food Drive, I wasn’t sure how good the response would be for the jackets, so we just scheduled it for one Sunday. As it turned out  the response we so overwhelming that we did it for three Sundays. In all we have been able to provide them with almost two tons, yes I said tons!!! of jackets and food.

Highest kudos and high fives for everyone in the congregation who participated in this outreach.  God, does indeed, work in mysterious ways.

Peace and patience,
Marilyn Brown
