Group Academic Advising Sessions
There will be two group academic advising sessions offered for students who have not been able to schedule an appointment and receive their pin number with their academic advisor. Sierra Stoltzfus, your peer-academic advisor, will be hosting two separate sessions:
- Friday, November 1, 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM
- Monday, November 4, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
These group sessions will take place in Perez Hall, Green Conference Room. Class registration begins on November 4.

Join Jared Nigro on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7 PM in the Control Room to hear about his advice and insight as the Festival Coordinator for LA Shorts. Discuss film festival strategy, learn from an industry professional, and engage in opportunities to make connections.

Deadline: Friday, Nov. 1, Sundance Class of 2020 Application
Consider joining the 2020 Sundance Class, which will take place in Park City, UT during the week of January 27th–February 2nd. This amazing opportunity allows participating students to attend world premieres of films, develop closer relationships with their peers and fellow collaborators, and discuss films from morning to night.
The cost is $3,498 + $50 registration fee. Airfare, lodging, 15 movie tickets, and a Sundance badge will be covered. A deposit of $1,500 will be due by Nov. 1.

Crew Call Bulletin Board in Production Center
A Crew Call Bulletin Board brought to you by CMA Student Council members, is now in the Production Center where students can post fliers and notes if they are searching for crew members to fulfill positions on their projects. This bulletin board is located on the wall by the Equipment Room.
Please note, this bulletin board is not for announcements, project promotion, or events. Please remember to remove your postings when project dates have passed or are no longer relevant. Your posting will be taken down if it is not in compliance with CMA standards and the bulletin's original purpose and intent.

Using VR to teach English in Closed Countries
Join Quinn Taber, former missionary to the Middle East and founder of Immerse, as he discusses his immersive method which accelerates language learning by 3-4 times through the power of VR. Once students express an interest in learning more about Christianity they are connected to indigenous VR churches pastored by a local leader.
