The many sides of Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving means something different for all of us. Some anticipate cooking the meal...though most just want to eat it. For others, the hassle of traveling during such a busy time can be either frustrating or a comedy of errors that will lead to family stories for decades to come. Some people love the togetherness with family, while others find themselves in awkward conversations and seek a way out. Finally, there are the family traditions that have been passed down year by year, decade by decade, that some hope will always continue. Ultimately these are the reasons Thanksgiving is a celebration of gratitude. We welcome you to enjoy one of these DVDs from our collection to help you celebrate Thanksgiving!

DNA and Genealogy: Using DNA Painter to Create Colorful FAN Charts.

The Erie Society for Genealogical Research (ESGR) offers a special interest group focusing on DNA testing for genealogical research. November's session will be: Hands-on Workshop - Using DNA Painter to Create Colorful FAN charts. This session is appropriate for all levels and for those who have not yet taken a DNA test. This will be a hands-on workshop for anyone interested in creating FAN charts and using other Tree Features on DNA Painter, a third-party site. Bring your laptops. Tablets are also appropriate, but some features may not be possible. This program is FREE and open to the public and no registration is necessary.
Genealogy with Susan Mueller: Family Photos, Finding, Identifying, Dating.

Join Susan Mueller as she guides us through solving genealogy puzzles using family photos. Susan will share her expertise with using online sources for finding family photos, getting help identifying photos, sharing photos, and dating photos based on clues.
