This is what the Midland Express printed this week

A group of Kyneton residents concerned about the Climate Crisis is hosting an Extinction Rebellion Information evening on Wednesday 30th October at 7.30pm. Psychologist and climate activist Jane Morton, a clinical psychologist who has gone into semi-retirement to become a climate emergency campaigner, will speak on ‘Heading for Extinction and What to do about it’ at the Kyneton Mechanics Institute.
Echoing the protest successes of the Civil Right Movement and Gandhi’s non-violent resistance, Extinction Rebellion uses the principles of non-violent direct action to call for the declaration of a Climate and Ecological Emergency, the halting of biodiversity loss and a reduction in greenhouses gases to net zero by 2025, and the create of a Citizen’s Assembly for climate justice.
Local GP Dr Susi Fox says, ‘Extinction Rebellion is a way for ordinary citizens to be heard to ensure our children will have a future worth living.’
Kyneton activist and meeting organiser Rob Bakes says, ‘The Information Night provides Kyneton residents with an opportunity to learn more about Extinction Rebellion and its activities, as well as empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills to make a difference.’
Attendees be able to express interest in joining the newly-formed Kyneton Extinction Rebellion branch on the night. Jane Morton’s booklet “Don’t Mention the Emergency?” will be available for sale after her talk.

INVITATION - XR ART FACTORY
Screen printing and social event.

At 2pm this Sunday, 27th October, the Macedon Ranges Extinction Rebellion team are holding a screen printing and social get together at the Woodend Community House.

Bring your t-shirts, flags pants, or anything else you want printed with the XR artwork and come have fun with us.

Old friends and new faces all welcome. No experience nor tools needed. Just bring your lovely selves and PS... wine and nibblies are welcome!

It looks like Melbourne are sending their fabulous woodblocks up country for us all to use at our event. There are XR logos plus some animal images (a bird and a bee). To me woodblock and lino printing is not as demanding as screen printing. Especially fun for kids.
