United Methodist Meditation for All Saints Day

All Saints Day, November 1, is a time to remember Christians of every time and place, honoring those who lived faithfully and shared their faith with us. But this practice does not have to happen just one day a year.
Adapted from a prayer written by Safiyah Fosua, this video reflection can be used to remember those past and present whose examples inspire your own faith journey.

A Prayer Meditation for All Saints Day
(Written by Safiyah Fosua)

We give you thanks, O God, for all the saints who ever worshiped you,
whether in arbors or cathedrals,
wooden churches or cement meeting houses.

We give you thanks, O God, for hands lifted in praise:
manicured hands and hands stained with grease or soil,
strong hands and hands gnarled with age,
holy hands.

We thank you, God, for hardworking saints,
whether hard-hatted or aproned,
blue-collared or three-piece-suited.
They left their mark for you, for us, for our children to come.

Thank you for the sacrifices made by those who have gone before us.
Bless the memories of your saints.
May we learn how to walk wisely from their examples of faith, dedication, worship, and love.

A great deal of progress has been made this month in the new pantry and refrigeration room remodels!

 * Alice Rose and Ann Mottley spackled and sanded the pantry walls. Pam Wall and Delight Maston also did some sanding and spackling, and Pam primed and painted all the walls with Susan Coelho doing the edge work.
 * Last Saturday, the wall separating the new refrigeration room was built thanks to Alan Honig, Jim Hunt, Luis Coelho, Craig Fitzsimmons, Bill Brown, Brian Harrison and John Pariseau - who also did some plumbing work in the new pantry.
 * On Monday, Crossier Electric installed new wiring in both the pantry and refrigeration room.
 * Next up is laying of vinyl flooring where the old cabinets were removed, installation of missing baseboard and trim mounding, carpet cleaning and priming and painting of the new walls.

The new rooms will be ready to receive our annual in-gathering donations on Sunday, November 24th!
