Happy October

Hi everyone,
This is our first studio update since the Grand Opening of Maine Prairie Studio last September.  We would like to share with you all some positive news since the last update
It's hard to believe we've been living in our house for almost  two years already. Life has been full. Megan and I got married in Grand Marais on June 21st. Thanks to all the friends and family who made the day really special.  Also this past year, a number of students took classes in our studio. We participated in a few festivals, including the Minnesota Pottery Festival in Hutchinson, and the Millstream Arts Festival in St. Joseph, where we were awarded third place for Best in Show. We feel very thankful and excited to have a place to make and share clay again.
Over the past few months, we have been remodeling our studio spaces.
Our hope is that our space in Kimball will be a place for making, teaching, growing and gathering with old friends and new ones.
Our current studio has served as our making and teaching space. Megan and I have reprogrammed that studio and it is now a dedicated teaching space for classes and workshops. We have made some changes to the studio including additional windows and new pottery wheels.
This fall, we have been diligently working on the loafing shed that we raised last fall. It was originally intended as a home for a wood kiln. In the course of construction, it evolved into Megan's and my studio, a clay processing room and small gallery. Both studios
will be fully operational for the start of our Winter Classes on November 5th. We may have to have a Grand Re-Opening! See below for information on our Winter Gallery hours.

Starting in the spring of 2020, we'll be breaking ground on our wood kilns. Megan and I are excited to broaden our firing flexibility for ourselves and students. We're also looking forward to a joint exhibition in August of 2020 at Gallery St. Germaine in St. Cloud.
Stay tuned for updates on progress and new developments. Thank you for all the support over the years. Megan and I look forward to having you visit our new
place.

Thanks for looking and come visit,

JD, Megan, Micah and Ofelia
