Results of PHIMA 2019 Member Survey

Last month, the PHIMA leadership sent a survey to all PHIMA members to gain an understanding of your perspective of our CSA. The topics ranged from what education topics you would like to see to what forums you prefer for communication to what would persuade you to become more active. The survey closed September 30 and we’re thrilled to announce that 123 of you took the time to complete the survey.

The following is a summary of the survey:

Did you know that over 70% of the membership have less than 5 years experience and greater than 15 years experience, with a majority of 45 % falling into the more tenured group? With that said, only 7% of you are currently volunteering. There was a common theme of not knowing what opportunities are available. Look for more details in a future e-Alert on ways to become more involved.
94% of you read the weekly e-Alert with a high majority feeling the timing is just right.
71% of you say the annual conference is your favorite event but are open to other ideas for education including more virtual options and more opportunity to network at events.
You were very vocal with topic suggestions for our education sessions, which have been turned over to the Education committee cochairs and provided ideas for us to better use social media for communication.
You feel that we should focus our attention to LinkedIn and Facebook and believe that event announcements and debriefs being the number one reason to tune in to social media with job opportunities and volunteer opportunities falling just behind.
There was much feedback about the location of the annual meeting as well as the costs of various educational events – all of which the board takes very seriously and will review in upcoming meetings.

Coding Questions? Tell Us What They Are!

The Revenue Cycle and Coding Committee would like you to send your burning coding questions. A group of interested coders (thank you CPHIMA) has suggested that a webinar regarding coding questions would be a great asset to the state. This webinar will be created based on the questions that are provided. The webinar will be recorded so that it may be listened to on demand.

You may send your questions to ljohnson@revenuecyclesolutions.com. As you are sending in your questions, you may also want to include what new topics that you would like additional training.
