We are delighted to welcome Mr Shane Devlin, Chief Executive of the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, as the new Chair of the Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership (CYPSP) and Mrs Maxine Gibson as the new Children's Services Planning Professional Advisor for CYPSP.

SHSCT ID CAMHS - Giving Hope by Working for and with the Child
The CYPSP Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) Group have shared a video of children and young people who attend the Intellectual Disability Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (ID CAMHS), along with their parents, telling their journey to and with the ID CAMHS Team in the Southern Health and Social Care Trust.

|
|
CAMHS and Youth Justice Agency Pilot
CAMHS and the Youth Justice Agency (YJA) are working in partnership to review the mental health needs of children and adolescents (under 18) either known to, or potentially at risk of being involved with Youth Justice Services and CAMHS. As set out in the Southern Outcomes Group plan and being driven via the EBD Sub-Group, a pilot is being trialled within the Southern Health and Social Care Trust which aims to better meet the mental health needs of young people known to both services.

Colin Neighbourhood Partnership: Changing Lives for Families at Risk of ADHD

Colin Neighbourhood Partnership (CNP) is continuing to deliver the early intervention Changing Lives programme to communities across Belfast and Lisburn, targeted at parents of children aged 3-7 whose behaviours are consistent with ADHD but are generally too young to have been assessed or diagnosed.

CYPSP’s Southern Area Locality Planning Groups are currently mapping provision for services to promote better mental health and emotional wellbeing for children and young people across the Southern Trust area.
The resource, which will take the form of a services directory, will be available online, on the CYPSP website, for professionals and families to see what is available in the local area.

Northern Family Support Hubs Service
The Northern Family Support Hubs Service have been attending events to promote their service to parents and children 0-17 years in their local area.
In the coming months they will be attending further community events to showcase their service including Sure Start's Family Fair in Burnavon Centre on Saturday 9 November 2019 and they look forward to networking with families, services and professionals.

EITP Trauma Informed Practice Project Training for Trainers - Programme Dates for 2019
Building on the EITP Level One Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Awareness and Level Two Trauma Sensitive Practice session the Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland in partnership with the HSC Leadership Centre has developed a Train for Trainers Programme for all organisations.

Parenting Week 21-25 October 2019
Parenting NI is excited to be reaching the milestone of its 40th Birthday. The charity will be marking the anniversary during their annual Parenting Week which this year will be focusing on Celebrating Parents and the amazing job they do every day!
Parenting NI are encouraging as many parents, organisations, community groups and schools to get involved as possible by hosting events or doing some of the activities in the Parenting NI pack which can be downloaded from their website.

Family Mediation NI
Family Mediation NI are under contract with the HSCB to deliver an early intervention approach to family breakdown, to assist parents to communicate around achieving the best outcomes for their children going forward.
The service is available in all five Trust area and delivers a child focused, facilitative model that aims to empower separated parents to negotiate, compromise and draft their own bespoke co-parenting agreement.
