Central Carolina Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club E-Newsletter

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Members-

Hope everyone is enjoying the changing of the seasons.  Our annual Concurrent Cavalier Specialty Show was held August 17th & 18th in Greensboro, NC. Judge Mrs. Mandy Attwood, Clentview Cavaliers, UK, was our conformation judge on Saturday. Our own Mrs. Mimi Hodges of Mimric Cavaliers was our Sweepstakes judge on Saturday.   Our Sunday Judge was Mrs. Cindy Vogels. Mandy's critique is found later in this newsletter.  We also recieved a sweet note from Judge Vogels.  That has been added as well.  Special thanks goes to all of the committee leaders, members, volunteers and participants.

We are highly anticipating 2020 and will be welcoming Breed Specialist Judge Carla Mathies, Creekside Cavaliers, USA who will be judging Conformation on Saturday along with Kathy Kates, Darane Cavaliers, USA, who will be judging Sweepstakes on Saturday.  On to 2020!  We have also contracted with Judge Michael Levy of Pascavale Cavaliers, UK to judge the Saturday Specialty for us in 2021!

Happy Fall!

Cheers,
Heather Borton
President

Education Topic: Review of the Central Carolina CKCSC Code of Ethics

It is important for new members to understand one of the important reasons we are the CCCKCSC.  We are more than just a social club.  We are expected to abide by a code of conduct called our code of ethics.  This education topic is also a great reminder for those who have been in the club a long time.  It never hurts to get a refresher.  Join us Saturday November 16th.

For first time guest
We get to use a large, indoor, air conditioned room where we allow our Cavaliers to be off-leash. We discuss different topics at each meeting and socialize afterward.
Bring a folding chair in which to sit and a snack to share. Please bring your dog(s)!

You do NOT have to be a member to attend the meeting.
The entrance to the room we use is to the LEFT of the front entrance of the building and around the back. Please be sure the gate SHUTS before you open the door to the room! We have some very talented escape artists!
We're looking forward to seeing you all there.

Don't forget your chairs and food!

Dogs never bite me.  Just humans.

Judge's Critique from August 17th CCCKCSC Specialty  Show
Mrs. Mandy Attwood, UK
Central Carolina Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club Speciality
17th August 2019 – Greensboro, North Carolina
Judge:  Mandy Attwood, UK. (Clentview Cavaliers)

I would like this opportunity to thank the CCCKCSC Committee for inviting me to judge at their speciality show and for looking after us so well, special thanks to Heather, Rabecca and Gwen for taking such good care of us.  I had some beautiful dogs to judge and would like to thank everyone for their entries and for the immaculate way in which you present your dogs.  Tail sets and rear movement is still a problem and we do need to think about this when breeding.
