DPS IS HERE TO HELP! As bicycle thefts continue to rise, we are asking for your help to prevent these crimes. In addition to our weekly property registration tables, we will be holding three U-Lock or U-Lose cable lock exchange events. Bring your Brown ID and your cable lock to exchange for a free U-Lock, courtesy of DPS:

11/14 - 11am- 2pm    Main Green
11/21 - 11am- 2pm    Main Green

LIFE-SAVING WORKSHOPS: A life-threatening bleed will take someone’s life within minutes unless there is someone to stop it. Learn basic bleeding control techniques and be empowered to save a life until first responders arrive. Check Today@Brown for registration links - we have programs scheduled for 11/11, 11/12, 11/21, and 11/26.

COMMUNITY LIGHTING SURVEY:
One of our high priorities is to make the campus a place where everyone can move about with a sense of safety. We achieve this by maintaining a well-lit campus, placing security cameras and blue light emergency phones at various locations across campus, and also by sponsoring the student lead SafeWalk program.

Light the Way Survey is a comprehensive campus lighting and safety check in which students, staff, and faculty spread across the campus to report any safety concerns they see along the way. It's organized by DPS in conjunction with Facilities Management, Residential Life, and Student Activities.

We solicit help and improvement ideas from students who wish to participate in this campus survey. You may contact DPS to sign up for the Light the Way program scheduled for 11/4, 11/5, and 11/6.
Look at this winner! Congratulations to Renny Ma - winner of our blanket raffle!

November Safety Tips:

Safewalk will be closed on 11/26 - 11/28:  Utilize the shuttle service.

Before leaving campus for Thanksgiving break, DPS recommends storing your bike in the bike storage room of your residence hall -or- place your bike in your room to keep it safe and protected.

Stay alert! No matter where you travel, always observe your surroundings. Crimes can occur at any time of the day.

Protect your valuables - visit Officer Shelton at our upcoming property registration events to register your bike, computer, tablet, or phone:
  • 11/1 from 11am - 2pm at Andrews Dining Hall
  • 11/4 from 11am - 2pm at Friedman Hall
  • 11/6 from 4pm - 7pm at Sciences Library
  • 11/8 from 11am - 2pm at Sharpe Refectory
  • 11/11 from 11am - 2pm at Page Robinson Hall
Don't forget to set your clock back one hour on Sunday night.
