SHARING HISTORIES
In our last newsletter we announced the latest book from Half Letter Press, Inside the Matrix: The Radical Designs of Ken Isaacs by Susan Snodgrass. This past week we learned that since the publication of this book, Ken Isaacs’s widow Sara Isaacs has died. Author Susan Snodgrass worked closely with Sara who gave her access to materials from Ken Isaacs’s archives that greatly enriched the book we made together. We would like to recognize Sara’s importance to this project and share our condolences with her family. When we publish the work of others, it is commonly to share histories that deserve to told in greater detail than already exists, or that might otherwise slip through the cracks. We are glad that we were able to finish the book before Sara’s passing and in time for her to receive it. We are thankful to the many people that have acquired a copy so far and who will help us spread awareness of this richly imaginative work.
In the last month we’ve participated in the NY Art Book Fair, the Vienna Art Book Fair and the Detroit Art Book Fair. Thanks to the organizers that make these outstanding events possible, to the other publishers who make this community so friendly and great, and to everyone that came out to say hi, purchase books, and tell us about their own work. All three of these events have been immensely satisfying to be part of. Next up in November, we’ll be at the 3rd iteration of the Chicago Art Book Fair. We hope to see you!
Wendy's Subway—non-profit reading room, writing space, and independent publisher located in Bushwick, Brooklyn—organized Reading Room at MoMA. They selected some of our titles to include. The publications are on view through January 2020.
Since we last wrote, we reprinted an old Temporary Services booklet, made a PDF version of our booklet Sonic Meditations available, and added new publications to the store from Public Collectors, Sergej Vutuc, Pedestrian Magazine, the journal Dispatches from the Field, and a print by Gary Kachadourian from many years ago that we completely forgot to add to the store… for YEARS! Have a look and thanks again for your attention to the things we make and distribute.
