Nine years in the making, the documentary “The Commons” reflects 49 communities and their struggle to protect their shared resources from privatization. Attend a free screening and Q&A with director Kevin Hansen on Friday, November 1 from 3 - 6 PM at the Community Media Center of Marin (819 A Street in San Rafael).

DAY OF THE DEAD ALTAR
Here at CMCM, we’re celebrating el Dia de Los Muertos by hosting a Community Altar. The altar is open during our regular business hours from October 16 - November 2 and is a safe space for anyone to pay respect to their deceased loved ones. Bring a photo, an offering, flowers, or just treat this as a place to reflect.

FCC UPDATE
The FCC passed its Third Report and Order on Cable Franchising on August 1 – and while the results of the 3-2 vote were not surprising, the statements coming from the majority members of the Commission were at times alarming, arrogant and disingenuous. More info at http://marintv.org/fcc
