Pressing Through
© 2019 Deborah Ann Belka

You got to press through,
unanswered prayers
you got to believe
God still cares.

You got to know,
He’s working things out
you got to stand firm
in faith and not doubt.

You got to press on,
through the ups and downs
you got to keep trusting
till His answer resounds.

You got to understand,
it’s all about His timing
you got to hold on tight
while the answer He’s priming.

You got to believe and trust,
you got to press through
while God is preparing . . .
the right answer for you!

20th SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST

We celebrate "Worship in Pink Sunday," with the Jubilant Voices leading us in the ministry of music, and Rev. Paul A. Hill bringing the message under the sermon title "Under Construction," with Luke 18:9-14 as the scripture reference.  We will share in a time of observance as we celebrate breast cancer survivors, lift up those who are in the journey, and remember those who fought the good fight.  This Sunday we will also celebrate Confirmation, as two of our youth take this important step in their faith journey, remembering the covenant that was made at their baptism, and making their personal commitment as followers of Jesus Christ  and members of the United Methodist Church.

WORSHIP IN PINK

Our annual observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month includes our worship celebration and a time for education and awareness.
Claudia Spears is pictured here sharing literature on breast cancer health.

"Breast cancer is being detected at an earlier, more treatable stage these days, largely because women are taking more preventive measures,
like self-exams and regular mammograms.
And treatment is getting better too."
