We will sing, dance, and act out scenes and songs from Mary Poppins! ACTING TECHNIQUE SERIES
ACT 1: Acting Fundamentals (Grades K-3) FALL/WINTER 2019
Acting Class
October 29th- December 17th, 2019; Tuesdays 4:20-5:20 pm (8 hours)
Price $135
Recommended for new or beginning acting students who want to participate in the next play or musical, Beginning Acting covers the fundamentals of acting through sensory, observation and relaxation exercises and games. Beginning actors will learn and practice good habits of basic stage movement, blocking, and body work in order to learn to move and act with purpose. This class will provide actors with the groundwork to take the stage with confidence and culminates with a fun mini showcase on the last day of class.

ACT 2: Acting in Performance (Grades 4-8) FALL/WINTER 2019
Acting Class
October 30th- December 18th, 2019; Wednesdays 4:20-5:20pm (7 hours- no session on Weds, Nov 27)

Recommended for students who are currently in or planning on participating in a play or musical production. This class focuses on meeting the needs of each actor, and working to get to the next level of performing for an audience. Through learning and application of techniques, we will work on setting each actor’s goals and finding and fixing performance gaps through individualized coaching on techniques and methods for performance. The second half hour will focus on extension of the craft by digging deeper into character work, objectives, relationships, and putting the words to action to develop a scene or monologue that engages the audience into the world of the character. This class concludes with a monologue showcase on the last day of class.

ACT 3: Acting for Life (Grades 8-12) FALL/WINTER 2019
Advanced Actor’s Craft Intensive
November 7th- December 19th, 2019; Thursdays 4:20-5:20pm (6 hours- No sessions on Oct. 31st & Nov. 28th)
Price $135
Recommended for experienced or serious actors who want to gain a deeper understanding of the craft, this class digs into script analysis and the many layers that make up the world of the play. We’ll delve into character objectives, obstacles, motivations, intentions, subtext, acting theory and application. Students will memorize, rehearse, workshop, and eventually perform a sample a scene or monologue on the last day of class.

January 5th-26th, 2020; Sundays 1:00-2:30pm (4 sessions)
Price $135
In this Acting Master Class, students will work with the acting coach to gain an in-depth understanding of acting and breathing life into a character in order to tackle show and/or college auditions with confidence. Students will discover their ability to bring natural impulses to the stage and receive one-on-one feedback and coaching on the process, from selecting the right monologue to working on a character and scene study, to taking the stage and performing mock auditions and the acting tools to take to the next audition. This class may be repeated to build repertoire.
