Men’s Breakfast in the Fellowship Hall (1st Saturday of every month)

Women’s Breakfast at Virlie’s Grill (2nd Saturday of every month)

Bring a covered dish, and join us in the fellowship hall following worship for this month’s Second Sunday Lunch.

Youth Group meetup (2nd Sunday of every month)

 

November 12, 10am-12pm 

Join us for In His Service, a program that provides meals for both members and those in our community in need of this service. All are welcome to help with meal-prep and/or write letters and cards to accompany the meals. Youth not in school are encouraged to attend. Transportation can be provided if needed. IHS will meet on the second Tuesday of every month. Please contact Linda Sessoms if you have any questions.

Kids Fun Night at PPC! Free event for pre-K through elementary kids. Includes crafts, coloring activities, movies, and more! (2nd Thursday of every month)

Announcements

October Session Highlights:

  • The session approved a motion that PPC will not allow government entities to conduct business in our facilities unless there are special circumstances. 
  • PPC will be beginning a new program called GriefShare.It will fall under Congregational Care, and will be taught by Bobbie and Jose.
  • NA will be having a dinner at PPC on Thanksgiving Day.
  • PPC will be participating in NCCare360, which is a program linking nonprofit agencies so they can easily refer clients to each other, and track someone they have referred.

 

UPLIFT Chatham Cost of Poverty Experience / Poverty Simulation

On November 9th, UPFLIFT Chatham (formerly Circles Chatham) will be offering a Cost of Poverty Experience at Chatham UMC (4 miles South of the Pittsboro circle).  Included are, first, a workshop on the perspectives of poverty, where you will participate in a group discussion and learn about the scope and challenges of poverty.  Then, you will participate in a poverty simulation, which is an immersive role-play learning experience that gives participants an opportunity to experience poverty firsthand through the eyes of real people who have lived life facing its challenges. Check in is at 8am, and the workshops will last until around 1:30pm.  A donation of $20/person is suggested but not required, and includes lunch. Contact Ellen Grand if interested. Adult Sunday School Class

Beginning October 20th, the Adult Sunday School class will begin a five-week study of Ephesians using the book Made New Through Christ. It will be conducted in a book club manner using a chapter a week.  Come and join us!

 

Kids Fun Nights and Youth Game Nights

Starting in September, PPC will host monthly events for both kids (pre-K through elementary) and youth (middle and high school). Kids Fun Nights will be every second Thursday evening from 6-8pm and will include activities such as crafts, coloring activities, and movies. Youth Game Nights will be every 4th Friday evening from 7-9pm. Youth should bring their gaming systems and favorite video games. Registration forms are available on our website here. Devotionals Available

We have Jesus Calling devotionals available for $15. The daily messages inside are both highly accessible and deep. Contact Rev. Evan if you’d like one (or more).
