Hey there!

October is almost over, and it has been another exciting month for us at Hasura.

Our latest release includes some eagerly anticipated features. You can now customize names of the fields in Hasura's GraphQL schema. We have also added support for computed fields.

Our team has also been busy preparing for one of the year's biggest GraphQL conferences - GraphQL Summit. Tanmai, Tiru & I will be at the conference from the Hasura team, and we'd love to meet you if any of you are attending :).

Read on to find out more.

Product Updates

Hasura v1.0.0-beta.8 is out. Here are the highlights from our latest release:
  • Customize field names: You can customize root and column fields generated by Hasura. We've also added the ability to annotate GraphQL schema with comments so you can document tables, columns, relationships etc.
  • Support for computed fields: You can add computed fields to your tables. Computed fields are virtual values or objects that are dynamically computed and can be queried along with a table's columns. You can use computed fields to create a "name" field that concatenates "firstName" and "lastName". You can also use computed fields to "flatten" many to many relationships so that "through" tables are not exposed in your GraphQL schema.
Read more about these features in the change log.
