Hi folks, if you follow me on Twitter you probably have read that I'm taking some time off social media. It's not forever, but I want to go a few weeks trying to reconnect to people in different ways. More on this on my latest weeknotes, that will also tell you this was a week mostly dedicated to recovering after Open Data Camp.
As a consequence of that, I don't have much to update you on, other than reporting this piece of sad news for data journalists: the Global Editors Network has announced it's shutting down. They have been running for a few years with great initiatives like the Data Journalism Awards (humblebrag: some recipients are aficionados of "in other news") and it's really not a good sign to see them having to fold.
My disappearance from social media also means that I won't be sharing a link to subscribe to "in other news", so your sharing will be much appreciated, if you don't find this request a sign of hypocrisy (which, I hope, you appreciate it's not) :-)
Last week's most clicked link was The Pudding's article on how they use MapBox to create their interactive storytelling pieces.
