The world is in somewhat of a dither, with politicians all over the place focusing on short-term power and control rather than longer-term wellbeing for everyone. There are, however, some notable exceptions and efforts to change the conversation.

Here is a TED talk by Nicola Sturgeon on Why governments should prioritise wellbeing.

And Compassion in Politics is trying to bring some kindness into debate.

If you have access to BBC Sounds, then Margaret Heffernan on 4th November 2019 chaired an episode of Analysis entitled Can I Change your Mind - bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0009z89. It shows that the way we talk with each other can either embed polarisation or do the opposite. Politicians and canvassers take note!
My own TEDx talk is now available: Sue Roffey: School as Family: Imagining an Education System Aligned with Healthy Child Development. Having waited nearly four months I now see everything I could have done better! But the message is what matters.
Many children and young people are not doing so well because of the pressures of an education system all about academics and competition rather than ensuring every child becomes the best they can be. Wellbeing needs to be at the heart of every policy & every practice. If you agree and think it’s worth it sharing – please do.
