International dried grape conference kicks off

Representatives from dried grape industries across the world have arrived in Mildura for this year's international conference.

The group – hailing from Australia, South Africa, USA, Turkey, Chile, Argentina and the UK – have been touring Sunraysia, looking at local industries and dried grape production and processing.

We enjoyed welcoming them to the region this week and look forward to today's conference, where delegates will hear from expert guest speakers and exchange information on dried grape production and marketing.

A full report on the conference will be included in the next edition of The Vine magazine.

DFA 2019 conference recap

It's been a busy few weeks for the dried grape industry!

It all began last Thursday with the Dried Fruits Australia AGM and grower forum. Thanks to everyone who attended – we had a great turn out of more than 60 growers and industry representatives.

At the AGM, four producer members were elected to the DFA Board. Congratulations to Jenny Treeby, Ashley Johnstone and Warren Lloyd on their re-election and to our newest board member, Loxton grower Luke Lory.

More information on the 2019 conference will be included in the next issue of The Vine.

If you missed the forum, two of the presentations (by Lower Murray Water's Anthony Couroupis and Western Murray Irrigation's Judith Damiani) are available to watch on our Facebook page.
