Coming up in the Club ...
Norwich City v Watford Friday,
8 November 2019
at 8:00pm
Watford and Norwich first met and drew against each other in Division Three (South) in March 1921. Since then, they have clashed on 98 occasions. Norwich has had the upper hand winning a total of 42 games against Watford's 27 leaving 29 games drawn. With both at the bottom of the table, a win for Norwich would only let them swap places!
Leicester City v Arsenal Saturday,
9 November 2019
at 5:30pm
Charlie Nicholas believes his former club Arsenal could suffer a heavy beating when they face Leicester at the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening. In the Premier League, Arsenal sit fifth after 11 matches. However, they are winless in three and pressure has grown on the Spanish coach ahead of their clash with the Foxes, who sit third in the table.
Liverpool v Manchester City Sunday,
10 November 2019
at 4:30pm
It's the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Manchester City, who currently occupy first and second in the table respectively. This clash is undoubtedly the big game of the weekend. It is only necessary to glance at the league table now or last season to see why games between Liverpool and Manchester City are so important in terms of the title race.
Wine tasting evening
Thursday, 14 November 2019 from 8:00pm
Why not pop to the Club on Thursday for a relaxing wine tasting session? We would be interested to hear your views on different wines to inform the Club's selection for 2020.
Sunday roasts this weekend are: Beef and Gammon
This week's guest ale is:
POPPY OTTER
Otter Brewery is proud to be again at the forefront of raising money for the Poppy Appeal as the country marks the 101st anniversary of the end of World War 1.
5p from every pint of Poppy Otter sold goes to the Royal British Legion.
The ales is reddish-brown - much darker than expected, with a nice, tight white head. Good nutty malt scent, creamy toffee malt profile, with light floral hops. Some may think Poppy Otter almost borders on a brown ale, but it still retains enough hoppiness to be a bitter. Enjoy and support the Poppy Appeal.
