There are some terrific conferences and events happening this month in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia to put in your calendar. They cover technology, careers, workforce development, STEM, and more. 
 
Events like these are an opportunity to meet other people who are there to learn and network. They allow you to take ideas back to the workplace to help solve problems you’re encountering, get inspired with new ideas, and share knowledge with others so everyone can benefit. They also allow you to contribute to important conversations that can lead to growth and transformation. Check out these upcoming events – you may find something you or a colleague could really benefit from.

Girls STEM Up – November 23, 2019

Girls STEM Up is an amazing event for high school and university students to experience a day learning about STEM, meet women working in STEM, and meet other students and employers to learn about the work they’re doing in our communities. Organized by a committee of UNB students and with an overall theme of “Discovery,” this inspiring day follows a successful inaugural event in March.

Workforce Summit 20/20 – November 12-13, 2019

One issue continues to emerge as the biggest challenge facing Atlantic Canada’s business community – workforce attraction and retention. In TechImpact’s Digital Technology in Atlantic Canada research report, this issue was top of mind for respondents. Workforce Summit 20/20 is a two-day conference in Moncton featuring a wide variety of speakers brought together to discuss solutions to this problem. 

Atlantic Technology Summit – November 20, 2019

The Atlantic Technology Summit is a one-day event in Halifax that brings the Atlantic Canadian tech community together to share discussions on the digital economy, AI, the cloud, and much more. 

Data Visualization Competition – November 21, 2019

This event keeps getting bigger. The Data Visualization Competition highlights the community-wide benefits of data visualization, including identifying potential improvements to government services and procedures, and recognizing potential business opportunities. This year there are over 40 teams competing at UNB.
