Empowering today's workforce.

This is where FSW-TECH comes into play, with a consortium from top organizations in six countries - Slovakia, Slovenia, Portugal, Romania and Belgium and funded through the European Erasmus+ programme.
This project's ambitious goal is to respond to the welding industry needs and to support the creation of a new guideline for three new professional profiles: FSW Operator, Specialist and Engineer.

FSW-Tech | Guidelines Piloted at National Levels

On the 17th of October 2019, ASR organised the Romanian Hands on Approach Seminar (HOAS) in the framework of the FSW-Tech project. During the HOAS, the trainees had the occasion to analyse the training materials and the guideline developed during the project.

The HOAS in Portugal was directed towards engineering students. It took place at IST, in Lisbon, at the end of September and two competence units were covered from the guideline in 6 training sessions. This seminar counted with the participation of over 50 students.

The HOAS in Slovakia, addressed the Operator profile and 6 trainees attended the seminar on the 17th of September. All the CUs recommended for the operator were piloted.

FSW-Tech | Final Meeting

On the 29th of October, FSW-Tech partners met at EWF’s office in Oeiras, Portugal for the final meeting. This meeting gave partners the chance to make the final adjustments to the outputs being finalised, but was also an opportunity to prepare the closing of the project.

Outputs 4 and 5 were the focus, dedicated to the National Implementation Guideline and to the European Recommendation Document, respectively.

FSW-Tech | Final Conference

On the 30th of October, EWF hosted the joint final conference, for the FSW-Tech and WOW projects, called “Apprenticeship in the EWF System & The FSW European Qualifications”, where both projects were able to present the results achieved to a wide European audience.

On the FSW side, besides the overview of the project’s results, the question a lot of training centres do was answered. “How to implement European Training for FSW Technology?”. A presentation by Susana Nogueira (an EWF project manager) was made and the national vision of the project partners on the impact and sustainability of the results were shown. This conference represented the ending phase of the project which has been running for two years.
