On Tuesday, October 29, 2019, the Charlottesville Clergy Collective organized the third "Conversations toward Reconciliation" dinner gathering. It was hosted by Unity of Charlottesville. FAFSA and College Essay Parties
November 13 and 14 in two local high schools and five community locations.
UVA students and faculty will help families complete the financial aid forms needed to get scholarships for their high school juniors and seniors who are college bound. They will also be helping to write college essays and assign mentors for follow up to help get applications filed. Totally free! Light meal provided. Flyers for Nov. 13 and Nov. 14. Space is limited! Giving Thanks Gala Celebration

UVA’s Equity Center will host a free community “thank you” dinner to introduce the Equity Center and its work and partners to the community. Featuring a community showcase, including Ms. Tanesha Hudson, a local filmmaker, who will discuss her new film! There will be dancing, live music, and a good time to be had by all who RSVP! Region Ten Hosts Community Convening Conference & Open Table
Wednesday, November 13, 10 am to 3 pm, at Region Ten, 500 Old Lynchburg Rd.
Learn how congregations and organizations use the Open Table model to create community and transformation through relationships with individuals and families who are homeless, experiencing poverty, or other life challenges. Region Ten is convening businesses and other private sectors in the community for the purpose of serving more kids and families. - Leave Mt. Zion First African Baptist Church at 8:00 am
- Arrive for our 11:00 am timed entrance pass
- Leave museum around 2:30 pm
- Return around 5 pm at Mt. Zion First African Baptist Church
How: Travel by Mt. Zion’s coach bus (40 seats)
Cost: $20 per person to cover the cost of gas, the driver, and parking. Bring $20 cash or check to Alvin Thursday morning.

Census Complete Count Committee Update
Census Complete Count Committee kickoff meeting on the 7th. The contributions of your fellow local organizations was immensely valuable.
